About Us - The Maria Montessori Language and Cultural Center is a 501C3 non-profit organization envisioned by Gail Longo and the parents and friends of Cinquegranelli Montessori School. The MMLCC embraces the Montessori alternative in education and invites individuals to discover their potential. This after school program begins our mission to provide an intergenerational gathering place where ecological understanding is expressed through individual healing, cultural renewal, environmental restoration and integrating community. The program supports children's curiosity and passion for life by providing diverse cultural experiences, activities, languages and ideas. The MMLCC offers languages at a time when children can most readily acquire them. Learning new languages does wonders for young minds and souls. It shows children that they are a part of something much bigger, that there are many other people and places for them to discover. Through experiences in nature, creative expression and learning that comes with movement, drama, languages and the arts, the MMLCC encourages children to stay in touch with their creative imaginations and their conscious awareness of the natural world. The MMLCC provides these opportunities for discovery and promises a broader horizon for the children of the 21st century. To learn more about how you can be involved, contact Gail Longo

dddddddddddddddd Community: In 2000 the MMLCC initiated an after-school program in language and art through the assistance of board members that were parents of Cinquegranelli Montessori. We are now in need of new members to bring in organizational, financial and planning skills to further develop strategies for a capital project to acquire property to house the after-school programs. You can provide help by becoming a board member, offering time to review program funding plans, suggest fund raisers, or even by referring associations that would be willing to support and donate funds to the MMLCC. Home: The MMLCC is in need of a 5,000 sqft. facility. Our vision is to have a community space for school, continuing programs and special events. If you know of a space please forward information to us. Assistance with just the search would be greatly appreciated. We also have an account open with Home Street Bank for MMLCC property donations. You can contact Gretchen Tuomi at 1-800-719-8080 or seek information on their website: Homestreetbank. Programs: We are seeking a philanthropist who would like to give us matching funds for an Italian Language Study Grant, co-sponsored by the National Italian American Foundation. This matching grant will allow us to expand our after-school Italian program throughout the school year. Contact us for more details. MMLCC
board meetings are once a month from 7-8:30pm. Please contact

At the moment no scholarships are available. However... You can help us attain scholarships! Please help those children in need to have a chance to learn a language, experience art or become a budding thespian. It will open another world. You can inquire regarding class fees and sponsor a child. Or ask your company if they match donations. If they do, donate half the class fees* and the other portion can come from your company. Everyone has a chance to give and feel rewarded!
*to benefit the child it's recommended that a full school year of language courses be sponsored. |
